WHAT WE BELIEVE

For it is with your heart that you believe. John 1:1

THE BIBLE, as God's inspired, inerrant Word, is the final authority for what we believe and how we live. Therefore, we are committed to equipping Christians to live for God through the preaching, teaching, study and application of the Bible.

GOD is one God in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As Creator of everything visible and invisible, He is sovereign over His creatures and worthy of their worship and praise. Therefore we are committed to calling people to give Him nothing less than their lives in worship and service.

JESUS CHRIST is God's eternal Son who came in the flesh for the sole purpose of giving His life as a sacrifice for our sin. Therefore, we are committed to hold Him up as the only one who can bring us into an eternal, loving relationship with God.

MAN was made in the image of God, for the purpose of knowing and living for God. Also, separated from God by sin and needs to have that sin removed so that he can be restored to a right relationship with God. Therefore, we are committed to dealing with man as a sinner in need of a Savior.

SALVATION comes only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It does not come by works, yet works are not separated from faith, but are the natural result of a sincere and genuine faith. Therefore, we are committed to calling people to be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

The CHURCH is an organization made up of people who have committed their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Because they have God as their Father, they are a family in faith serving God by serving one another and the world. Therefore, we are committed to the church as Christ's body on earth for worship and service.

The word REFORMED is applied to a church and denomination with a heritage rooted in the truths of the Reformation as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
